The Utah Jazz are set to unveil their 17th community court facility, and it will be the northern-most location to date.
Tremonton’s Meadow Park will welcome a Jazz community court at a reveal event scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at 754 S. 700 West.
The event is free and open to the public, and will include the participation of the Utah Jazz Dancers, the Jazz Dunk Team and Buster, the mascot for the Salt Lake City Stars.
In past community court events, Jazz players such as Joel Bolomboy and Ekpe Udoh have been in attendance.
The outdoor playing surface is 5,600 square feet and features six basketball hoops with “adjustable heights, backboards, nets, rims and striping in Jazz colors, along with the Jazz logo at center court,” according to a news release.
Larry H. Miller Charities, in conjunction with Tremonton City, funded the court.
A court at Ogden’s Marshall White Center is slated to open this summer, the 18th such community court built since 2001.
LHM Charities opened a community court at Farmington Park in October 2017. Other Jazz community courts in Northern Utah include Fisher Park (Clearfield), Bonneville Park (Ogden) and West Bountiful City Park.
